SaveBite: Food Tracker
Terms of Use
Effective and last updated: July 14, 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms apply when you use SaveBite. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms and the applicable Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these Terms conflict with mandatory consumer law, mandatory law applies.
2. Purpose of SaveBite
SaveBite helps you record food items, track dates, receive local reminders, manage a shopping list, and review your own inventory history. You are responsible for the information you enter and for checking product packaging and current official guidance.
3. Food safety
SaveBite is an organizational tool, not medical, nutritional, or professional food-safety advice. Dates, reminders, status labels, and product information may be incomplete, delayed, or incorrect.
Always check the original product label, storage instructions, package condition, smell, appearance, and applicable guidance. Do not rely on SaveBite to decide whether food is safe to consume. Use-by dates and best-before dates have different meanings, and you remain responsible for safe handling and consumption decisions.
4. Product information
Barcode results may be provided by Open Food Facts, a third-party service. SaveBite does not guarantee that third-party product names, categories, or other information are complete, current, or accurate. You should review and correct suggested information before saving.
5. Local data and device access
SaveBite currently stores app data locally on your device and does not provide an account or cloud synchronization. You are responsible for your device, operating-system backups, and preventing unauthorized access. Removing the app may remove local data.
Camera and notification permissions are optional. Denying them may limit barcode scanning or reminders, but manual product tracking remains available.
6. Acceptable use
You may use SaveBite for personal, lawful purposes. You must not attempt to interfere with the app, misuse third-party services, reverse engineer the app except where law expressly permits it, or use the app in a way that violates applicable law or another person's rights.
7. Availability and changes
The app may be updated, changed, interrupted, or discontinued. Reasonable care is taken to keep SaveBite reliable, but uninterrupted or error-free availability is not guaranteed.
8. Warranty and liability
To the extent permitted by law, SaveBite is provided as available without additional warranties. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights or liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health where applicable.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by German law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available under the law of their country of residence.
10. Contact
SaveBite is developed and operated by Ümitcan Çengel.
